McKenna Johnson, Staff Writer – September 30, 2-5 P.M., the Lecanto High School [LHS] football team is holding a fundraiser at the Rockin Rollin Bowling lanes in Beverly Hills. With a $9 purchase, participants get bowling shoes and unlimited bowling for the afternoon. A portion of the proceeds from those purchases as well as those at the bowling alley’s concession stand will go to the football team.
The panthers would like to invite anyone interested to come have a good time and meet LHS’s football players.
“I feel like the bowling fundraiser is a great way for teammates, the coaches, [and] families to get to know each other,” said freshman football player, Austin Recta.
Math teacher Karen Harper, who helped organize the event, felt bowling was a great choice.
“Everyone likes to bowl! The football team likes to mix up their fundraisers and have a [variety of choices],” said Harper.
“The football team is and has been having fundraisers all year in order to raise money for things needed for the program; things like helmets, football pads, girdles, and other football equipment used on the field,” said Harper.
Overall, the team looks forward to this potential bonding experience and the opportunity to raise money for a great football season.
