McKenna Johnson, Staff Writer – Lecanto High School [LHS] students love a variety Oreo flavors.
Since March 6, 1912, Oreo has been making its name in the food industry with its exciting and unheard-of cookie flavors all around the world (in over 100 countries), such as the green tea soft cookies in both Japan and China. Students at LHS are quite fond of these snacks and instantly knew their favorites when asked.
“My favorite Oreo flavor is Original,” said sophomore Joseph Piraux.
“I like the Double Stuf,” said sophomore Carlie Pearcy.
“My favorite Oreo flavors are Pumpkin Spice and Original, because nothing is better than the original,” said freshman Dylan Wise.
There is an uncounted number of seasonal and holiday Oreos, and it’s hard to keep up with the popularity of their new limited-edition flavors, such as Watermelon, S’mores, Cookie Dough, Peeps, Fruit Punch, Candy Corn, Strawberry Milkshake, and many more.
“I really like how they do the seasonal and holiday flavors; it’s really cool and I like diversity,” said Wise.
Freshman Briann Neveu has a soft spot for a very common favorite among seasonal flavors.
“Red Velvet is good,” said Neveu.
Many students were surprised by the mass success of the Oreo Company last year, with its $2 billion revenue. They certainly look forward to the creation of more wacky and outside-of-the-box flavor combinations.
“I didn’t think that they would make so many different types of cookies; I think it’s good,” said senior Sam Royle.
“I am definitely happy about the success of Oreo because I like their snacks,” said freshman James York.
