Seniors prepare to graduate

Elijah Reichle, Staff Writer – The Lecanto High School [LHS] seniors have reached the end of their last school year. Most seniors already received sheets listing key information needed in order to graduate without complications. These guides contain information on the graduation schedule and instructions for where graduating seniors should be on that day. For those who did not get one, they can be found in the front office.

Graduation day for the LHS class of 2017 is May 23. There will also be practice to ensure everything runs smoothly on May 22 and May 23. Graduation itself is at 7 p.m.

“I think it’s cool that every year the seniors get out a week before everyone else,” said LHS senior Gavin Fuhs.

The senior awards night was May 18 at 6 p.m., and for all the honorable students that completed LHS’ International Baccalaureate [IB] Diploma Program, the services were May 21.

Having spent four years within Lecanto’s walls, seniors are thrilled to begin the next step in their journey.

“I’m excited to graduate and start a new chapter in the book of my life as I head off to college,” said LHS senior Lydia Royalty.

“It feels great to graduate high school. I’ve definitely worked hard throughout the years and deserve it,” said senior Griffin Young.
