David Stevens, Staff Writer – May 6, the Lecanto men’s basketball team had their end of season banquet. They held the banquet at Manatee Lanes, and after giving out awards and recognizing students for their success, they had some bonding time of bowling.
Many players think that an end of the year banquet is a good way to look back on last season’s memories and look forward to the next season, even though it will be without the seniors.
“Looking forward to next season, hoping that we can be more successful than all the others, we have high hopes and are ready for next year,” sophomore varsity player Connor Damron said.
Junior varsity captain Andy Garcia had a good time at the banquet and thinks of it as more than just a banquet.
“It was great to see all the awards handed out and see the team, but the best part was looking back on all the things that happened during the season, good and bad, and it was just a blast to be with the teammates,” Garcia said.
Senior Griffin Young had a great time to end his Lecanto High School basketball career.
“I’ve had a lot of fun playing with my teammates, and I’ve learned a lot over the years. I hope to look back and see this as a good memory,” Young said.
