The fifth and final day of the 2013 Homecoming Week was Spirit Friday, the day of the homecoming game, which was Nov. 1.

To show their school spirit, students were to wear their class’ homecoming t-shirt, attire from a sport or club, or the school colors of green and gold.

“Just wear school colors or a homecoming shirt,” said freshman class president Kimberly Higgins.

Another way for students to show spirit was at the face-painting table during all lunches. Lecanto High School [LHS] art students painted fellow students’ faces with various designs. During lunch, students could also buy homecoming tickets or shirts.

The homecoming parade also took place Friday. Each grade had a float that representatives rode on and walked beside in the parade. Sports, clubs, and bands from Lecanto Elementary, Middle, and High schools also marched or rode in the parade.

After the parade, students sat in the bleachers of the football field for the homecoming pep rally. LHS sports team results were announced including the winning golf and swim teams.

The LHS varsity and junior varsity cheerleaders performed both half-time routines and helped pump up the student body.

LHS faced off against Dunnellon later that night for the homecoming game, where students continued to show their school spirit.
