Katie Nicole Schulze was born Aug. 31, 1995. Schulze grew up and has lived in Citrus County, Florida, her entire life. She has been in the International Baccalaureate program since freshman year, and finds that it will be helpful in her future.
“IB is a very challenging course, but I think it will be worth it to be prepared for college,” Schulze said.
Schulze has spent her time in a number of programs at Lecanto High, and each of them brings a little something special to her life. Schulze has been in Link Crew and National Honor Society for two years, and a part of the weightlifting and volleyball teams for three. Schulze has also been an active member of the Student Government Association as well as the Spanish Club.
Schulze loves being a part of sports teams, and participating in them means quite a bit to her.
“I love that weightlifting is a personal sport where you push yourself to become better,” Schulze said. “I enjoy volleyball because it’s a team sport that I love, and that I can get involved with friends.”
Aside from sports, Schulze believes that being in NHS and Link Crew are important.
“NHS is a great honor to be in, because it is the most prestigious academic club at this school,” Schulze said.
“I’m in Link Crew because I enjoy helping freshman find their place in high school,” Schulze said.
To balance all of her activities between her academic and social life, Schulze manages her time well.
“It gets very difficult to balance everything at times, but I just have to keep everything in moderation,” Schulze said.
